Each society in the world has its own cultural traditions that identify their heritage and makes them uniquely different. Some are natively developed and evolved with time, others might be adopted from different culture all together and eventually become their own. Beijing Opera, originated about two hundred years ago, is still a relatively young culture in China. It is a performance art incorporating singing, reciting, acting, and even martial arts. Most of the performances tell stories of history, society, or daily life. The performers often worn flamboyant costumes and exaggerated facial make-up.
